Methi Paratha is a healthy North Indian dish that can be taken at any time of the day - breakfast, lunch or even dinner. It is a great way of adding greens to our diet, especially if you have fussy kids. It can be taken as it is, but tastes fantastic with raita, just plain dahi or any achar of your choice.
Ingredients:
- Atta/wheat flour - 1 cup
- Methi/fenugreek leaves - 1/2 cup
- Green Chillies - 4-5, cut into small pieces
- Jeera/cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Salt - As per taste
- Oil - 1 tbsp
How To Prepare Methi Paratha:
- Wash methi leaves and drain the water.
- To the wheat flour, add methi leaves, green chillies, jeera, salt and a little water and mix all together to make a nice soft dough.
- Divide the dough into equal sized portions and roll out each portion into thick round shapes, slightly thicker than a normal roti.
- Heat the tava and and place the rolled out dough on it and cook for a few minutes. When small brown spots start appearing, apply a little oil and flip it over to the other side and cook for a few seconds. Flip it back again to see if brown spots have appeared on the other side too and remove from fire.
- Serve with any pickle of your choice, curd or raita.
